Week 3 - M&IS

This mornings lecture consisted of 2 lecturers; one whom talked about plagiarism & the effects it can have on ones work and also a women who presented the business "BIZZIE BODIES". As a result, we were able to recognize some of the problematic areas within the business & could start coming up with solutions within our groups. In our seminar we briefly discussed this and continued to carry on with some excel data input, whereby we practiced certain formulas and produced some spreadsheets.

Week 2 - MIS - Business Models & Digital World

In today's lecture we looked at the features of an organization and how information technology impacts on them. We covered Mintzberg's model which outlined the 5 different types of organizational structure and what they entailed. Furthermore, we looked at a number of levels such as Operational, Managerial & Executive which have different processes and layers in regards to how they function.

Week 1 - M&IS - Technological Innovation

Today in our Management & Information Systems we looked at how technology has developed over the years and how much of an impact it has in today's society. It is now a fundamental, integral and universal part of our society that is constantly changing. We discussed past organisations that didn't keep up with the technological innovation and as a result suffered.
